Hansen Actuators

Hansen continues to expand its reach in the HVAC market by offering two actuator products for damper control applications.

For simple 2 position control Hansen offers our ultra-quiet spring return actuator that incorporates the Whisper Motion air brake on the always reliable Synchron AC motor. The air brake add virtually no resistance during the power open cycle but adds drag during the spring return cycle that reduces kinetic energy by 40%. The slower speed results in longer motor life and quieter operation. The name Whisper Motion was chosen to emphasize the consumer benefits for residential and office installations.

Hansen power open / power close actuators mount interchangeably with our spring return actuators and provide the same strong, silent, reliable operation. These units utilize a reversible permanent magnet AC motor on a durable Synchron gearbox. With no spring to overcome they are the ideal choice for higher torque applications. Limit switches are used for power savings and L.E.D. lights indicate actuator position.

	Spring Return Actuators This simple 2 position unit requires equally simple controls. When energized the actuator drives open 90 degrees and stays open as long as it's powered. When power is removed the spring drives it back to the closed position. It's the simple, inexpensive option for damper control
	Power Open / Power Close In the quest for quiet, precise control, the Hansen Power Open / Power Close Actuator functions with a PM motor which uses power to open and close the damper. With no spring to overcome it's the preferred option for high load applications or when low power consumption is required.
	Damper Actuators Hansen's ultra-quiet spring return damper actuator is ideal for the HVAC market. Featuring the Whisper Motion™ air brake and the always reliable Synchron® AC synchronous motor, our actuator design eliminates the wind-up noise that often occurs when the motor and geartrain start spinning at more than ten times their normal operating speed.
