Whisper MotionTM Air Brake Technology

The patent-pending Whisper MotionTM air brake has been developed for the HVAC industry and is utilized in our ultra-quiet spring return damper actuators. Our air brake is also sold separately and can be used in any spring return type application

The goal was to design a brake that would add little or no resistance when the actuator was powering out to the open position, but would add drag during the spring return cycle in proportion to back-driving speed.

The air brake, in combination with strategic choices for other materials, was able to lower spring return noise by 7 dB (on the A scale at 0.5 meters) in a noise test chamber for an unattached actuator.
